This Way completed a half marathon
OMG!! I did it. I ran my first half marathon ever. I have been training for the half marathon but haven’t really thought it would be this tough. I have quite bad knees so I really had to take care of them. And already after 7 km I could feel my right knee started hurting a bit. But I kept running. And after 12 km also my left knee started making signs that it was struggling. I didn’t know if I should stop and listen to my knees and be rational about what the signs means… I hesitated… But with a determinated and ambitious mind like me, I couldn’t stop so kept running. My running steps became a bit smaller with time. There was no doubt about my knees where struggling and game me a kind of sign to stop, contrary was my overbody full of energy and I didn’t have a hard time breathing and keeping a straight posture. Meaning my overbody was feeling great! So I completed the half marathon, 21 km in 2 hours. Very proud!
Below are pictures from the half marathon day. I didn’t manage to take picture while running. I was too concentrted and determined on running and breathing. So picture are from before and after.
My lovely Cardio trainer Cecilie Blaksted with Simplyfit and me flashing our pink twins clothes from Stadium. SOC is Stadium’s own sports line, which Cecilie and I are supporters of. We felt fierce with this outfit before running. And I obviously also felt very happy and excited, which cannot be hidded through my big big smile.
My running team consists of (from the right) lovely Frede from Fredesblog , my cardio trainer Cecilie Blaksted, me, Line who is also trainning cardio with me, and last Cecilie Blaksted’s mom. Amazing team!!! Picture is taking just before the run started. We were all very excited and happy to do this! Cecilie Blaksted and her mom have done several half marathons before but for the rest of us were virgins.
Let’s do this!!!
The run began after the Danish prime minister Helle Thorning Smith did her speech. After er speech she was standing at the “START” point smiling and waving to the participants. She even clapped when my running team ran through and yelled “Go Girls” while clapping. How cool is that?
Reaching goal after running 21 km and this is what I look like. Sweathing (which is luckily not that visible on the picture) and smiling. YEEEEEEEEEAH!!! I did it. My first half marathon completed in 2 hours! All competitiors received a medal, water and an apple after the running race. Here I am standing satisfied and pink with my SOC running hoody and matching underneath t-shirt – love it.
Cecilie Blaksted and I are feeling like champions after the half marathon!!
WE DID IT!!!
