My experience at Kurhotel Skodsborg
I decided to visit the hotel and spa in Skodsborg in Denmark. The spa is situated in North Zealand next to the ocean. The surroundings of nature and ocean is an idyllic environment for a get-a-way spa day/weekend.
The hotel was founded in 1898 and has now 115 years of experience. The place is a contemporary hotel with a touch of modernity and comfort.
I was really excited to visit the spa hotel and brought a friend with me. Below are pictures from my day.
We went on a grey and boring morning, which is perfect for a day in a spa.
Enjoying the jacuzzi where I stayed for longer than supposed… I got addicted to the water bobbles massaging the body. Following did we go the the salt water room, where you inhale salt-extract which is healthy for the whole inhale-system in your body. Moving in to the steam bath where I applied a spirulina mask, which made me green in the whole face. Then sitting in the steam and scrubbing my body with a hemp glove and scrubbing off all dead skin. My body was so soft afterwards and my face too. The steam has the effect of opening the skins pore which helps getting new nutrition in (from the mask) and also get dead skin out.
Doing yoga with a soft and relieved body where I concentrated on the hatha yoga with cooling down the body postures. Different twist postures to extend the spine. Doing yoga after saunas and steam bath can be beneficial to go deeper into postures. Though I do not recommend doing fast movements because the body needs to cool down.
Importantly when doing postures like sitting twists is to focus on the breath and stay in the posture for at least five long breaths. After you feel a complete different in the body – like there is air in between your ribs and the spine feels longer.
Childs pose is a beneficial cool-down posture because the head is down to the ground and can relief any tension in the head and neck. Stay is “childs pose” for at least five breaths, preferably longer. The arms can either be extended in front (like me) or along the knees to feet.
After the cool-down yoga session of 30 min. it was time for lunch in the Lobby.
// Satisfied and happy with my ginger-lemon drink. A true detox/yogi drink, which is a MUST to try.
I can’t wait to come back
I love spa days!!!
