Well, I finally arrived to Tel Aviv after a long journey from Sri Lanka. I made it safe but my suitcase did not. I have to borrow clothes from my cousin until I get my stuff. I was actually prepared a bit for it so I had the essentials (beauty products, bikini, flip flops etc) in my hand luggage. Thank god for that! I arrived to the hotel in Tel Aviv where my mother and brother were waiting me. The purpose of coming to Tel Aviv this time was due to my cousins wedding. Jewish weddings are always big and full of party and lots of dancing, which I am really excited about.
I have family and Israeli blood due to my Israeli mother. My mother is Israeli but moved to Denmark in her mid-twenties so I am born Danish and my father is Danish. This makes me majority Danish but with Israeli blood. I speak Hebrew fluently and has come to Tel Aviv once or twice every year since I was born. I have lots of family and friends there. I love coming to Israel because to me, it is relaxation and pure family time. The culture is warm and “food” is the gathering spot for everything. When I compare the culture to the Danish, the Danish culture is more about drinking whereas the Israeli is more about the food. Everybody loves to cook and invite guests over for big dinner. It is kind of impolite not to eat when visiting families.
Welcome to Tel Aviv, one of my favorite cities (and you will discover why).
// Blurry snap on the way for dinner in my favorite artistic area, Neve Tzedek in Tel Aviv. Psst. The restaurant Suzanne is a must try!
