Meet Dutch model and journalist student, Jacolijn Groesbeek

I have made a Q&A with the Dutch stunning ginger model and journalist student, Jacolijn Groesbeek about her modeling career and life as a student.
I met this sweetheart in Barcelona while working together on a shoot for the Spanish brand, Stradivarius. Jaco (like everybody calls her) smiled from the first moment I introduced myself to her. From the moment I met her, I could feel that she was a passionated person, with a big warm heart. We had some fun days shooting together where I was lucky to get to know this girl even better.Below is my Q&A with Jaco.
About Jacolijn:
I am 19 years old (20 in October). I grew up in Dordrecht. Dordrecht is a small, old city nearby Rotterdam. I still live there (and I enjoy living there). I started modeling two years ago when I also started studying journalism. After my first year of journalism I got my propedeuse (first-year diploma). It gave me the opportunity to take a gap year and continue my study later. So I decided to do fulltime modeling for one year. I am know starting my study journalism again (I will go to the second year of my study now). Last year I have been traveling to Milan, London, Paris, Madrid and Barcelona.
One of the biggest jobs I did recently was the summer 2018 campaign for Picard Lederwaren. We were shooting in the Provence (in the beautiful lavender fields) and the team was like one big family, everyone was so friendly! When I think back about it, I get happy.  Further I did a lot of e-commerce (for example for El Corte Inglés) and I also did some shows during Fashion Week. The biggest show I have done was the Alta Mode Spring 2017 show for Dolce & Gabbana. I was dressed like a ballerina and the decor was so beautiful. The show was like a fairytale! (Picture further down in the post).
  •  Q: How did you end up doing what you do today?
Some friends of me told me I should try modeling. I didn’t want to. I thought I wasn’t really the type for modeling. Then a girl from high school send some pictures of me to a modeling agency and that is how everything started. Besides fulltime modeling I wanted to continue writing so I started my blog, The Writing Clothes Hanger. I write about my own experiences in Fashion (mostly with a critical view as well) and I interview people I meet during traveling (like you!)
  • Q: Did you set goals about where you wanted to be?
Not really. I did this gap year to see if I would like fulltime modeling. Once I started doing it and found out I enjoyed it, I was motivated to carry on.
  • Q: What inspires you in life?
Travelling, getting to know more about different cultures, meeting people with interesting stories (also for my blog).
  • Q: What motivates you?
When I get (good) feedback from people (about journalism, my blog or a modeling job). Or when I have a good conversation with someone.
  • Q: How do you take care of your body?
I eat healthy and try to walk a lot. I run once or twice a week and do some workouts at home. It will be harder to contain this while studying, I am already working out less right now…
  • Q: What is your food item/s of indulgence?
Chocolate and a good coffee (or tea) = love!
  • Q: What is your beauty secret/tip?
My secret is: nothing! I clean my face every night with water and make-up remover and in the morning I put little make-up on or just a daycream. I think I am very lucky with my skin. My skin is sensitive but I don’t get pimples or something much often)
  • Q: What is your next goal?
I want to focus on my study now. I would like to continue my blog besides my study and try to combine modeling with studying.
