Kumu Beach Hotel in Sri Lanka with Heidi Klein

I am currently in Sri Lanka, where I am surfing, doing yoga, and exploring the beautiful country. I have been to Sri Lanka one time before, which was 4 years ago for a job. At that time, I did not get to explore Sri Lanka so much, but I just remember becoming so amazed by the welcoming people and the beautiful green nature.

I have made a collaboration with one of my
favourite swimwear brands, Heidi Klein, who organised for me to visit a paradise hotel in Sri Lanka.

I have stayed at the
stunning boutique hotel, Kumu Beach Hotel, which is located approximately two hours car drive from Colombo International Airport. Kumu Beach Hotel is on the south west coast of Sri Lanka overlooking the sea. The hotel facilitates 10 rooms and all of them have not just the view of the ocean, but you can also listen to the ocean waves. It is the most magnificent sound and feeling.

The hotel:
The interior design of the hotel is Sri Lankan style mixed with a colonial cosy touch to it. The white and blue cushions mixed with the earth-colour wood bring your mind to a tropical context. When you are inside the security-gated property of the hotel you feel completely secluded a little paradise oasis.
The hotel is filled with plants and palm trees. There are a pool and access to the beach so you have the best of both.
The restaurant at the hotel is sublime. The food is fresh and delicious. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at the restaurant, at the pool, or in the room. The fish tacos were my absolute favourite!! They were made of local fish, mahi-mahi, that came straight from the ocean every day.
The staff was very service-minded and aware of all your concerns and habits. You really felt that they did everything to make you feel at your best.

The hotel is happy to arrange activities for you like; massages, surfing, nature excursions, and more. I went surfing which was amazing. The hotel arranged a tuk tuk driver to come pick me up after breakfast to take me to the local surf shop 20 min. away. Then I went to the beach with a private surf instructor where we caught some waves.
After one hour in the sea, the tuk tuk driver brought me back to Kumu Beach.  To me, surfing is the ultimate kind of sport. You are in the water having fun on the surf board and overlooking the most amazing nature. If I can do this every morning I think I would be the happiest person I can possibly be 🙂

I can highly recommend you go visit Kumu Beach. Go for a few days or a week and relax, do yoga, surfing, tan or whatever you feel like. You feel safe, secluded, and in absolute paradise here.My favourite time of day is sunset, and the sunsets at Kumu Beach are absolutely incredible. The colours changes into pink and together with the palm trees at Kumu Beach are just amazing!
