Sillewho is a blog that badly want’s to be a fashion blog, but often is everything else. It is a community that allows a safe space and entertainment for young women, who knows life isn’t always a dance in amazing shoes and who loves (a lot) of self-irony. It is a continuous chat about life’s ups and down and a scientifically review of which bags goes best with the rollercoaster of life. Words are in focus while a young woman tries to figure things out, all while she writes down her thoughts along the way.
Sillewho is more than just a fashion blog, owned by more than just one crazy writer. It is a gathering of people who support, entertain and inspire each other. It is a place for real women with real problems and real cravings for high heels.
My name is Sidsel and I have the blog Fashionpolish.
I’ve worked in fashion since 2008. First as a junior fashion editor at Cover Magazine, later as fashion director at Soundvenue Magazine, freelance stylist and now as Head of Communications at the iconic Danish brand Mads Nørgaard - Copenhagen.
I launched my blog almost seven years ago and still love creating my own online unverse about personal style, beauty and interior design. One could say my style is a bit boring compared to the street style stars of today, but I like not to follow trends too much and focus on materials and wardrobe evergreens like a great cashmere knit or a clean A-line skirt.
I also had the pleasure of working as a fashion expert on national morning television Go’ Morgen Dk, joined several radio shows on P3 and Radio 24/7 and in 2014 I won an award for best personal blog at ’Modeblogprisen’.
Even though I spend most of my work life online, my heart still beats for and I’m very proud to have written the personal styleguide and book SMART with my fellow blogger Frede.

Besides my blog I work as a model and I work all over the world. My educational background is a master degree in communication from Copenhagen Business School. Further, I have a working experience in the fashion industry since I was 16 years.
All this together have created a foundation for my blog where I believe we can create our own life.

Regitze Bay’s goal is, that River And Raven will become the sustainable version of Net-a-porter, and she is on her way.. River And Raven won the CSR-award last year, at the ELLE Denmark Award show 2016.
Read the Q&A below that I did with Regitze Bay regarding her inspiration and motivation in life:
– Q: What is your currently project that you are working on?
Currently I am working on a new and really exciting project for River and Raven. River and Raven is a concept store that represents only sustainable fashion- and lifestylebrands. I founded the company 5 years ago and this year I have added my own jewelry line to the concept. It is of cause an ethical jewelry line with recycled gold and fair trade gemstones.
– Q: How did you end up doing what you do today?
I worked as a stylist for a decade and loved the creative and fashionable part of it. But I got aware of the consequences of the fashion industry and wanted to do better. I researched for a year and was able to find a handful of brands with a different approach than the rest. These brands produced fashion in a different way, using organic materials and taking care of the environment at the same time. River and Raven was online in 2012 and we were the first sustainable concept store with a true fashionable profile and as an acknowledgement for that, we received the ELLE Style Award in 2016.
– Q: Did you set goals about where you wanted to be?
I constantly set goals for my business, and I think it is important to remember to do so, because it is a way to measure if you actually move forward. When you are a small business, working 50-60 hours a week, it sometimes feels like everything is uphill and maybe even 1 step forward and 2 backwards a lot of the time. Setting small goals and celebrating every small victory is a great way to measure even small progress, stay positive and keep the fire burning.
– Q: What inspires you in life?
I have always been driven, highly motivated, by creating all kind of things. Even my whole childhood was full of creative projects, like jewelry, paintings or decorating my room in a new color theme.
My vision behind River and Raven, was to make it easy for people to make better (fashion) choices without compromising style, quality and design. I wanted to create a universe of slow-fashion pieces for women who are confident enough to follow their personal style, and make choices that are not based on the dogma of a certain brand identity or a fast fading tendencies.
– Q: What motivates you?
After opening the psychical store in Copenhagen, my self-care has been reduced to healthy eating, a Sunday stroll or a trip in our sailboat. But I really love to do yoga and would love to have time to spend more time on that.
– Q: How do you take care of your body?
Peter Beier chocolate, as dark as you can get it, is a true pleasure of mine.
– Q: What is your beauty secret/tip?
I have spent a lot of hours researching for the truth about beauty. I found that there actually exist pure beauty products that truly make a difference for the skin, but you have to be disciplined to get the results. Choose products without skin irritating ingredients, use at least a cleanser, a toner, a serum and a moisturizer day and night and an exfoliator 3 times a week and be disciplined. That is the secret to a beautiful and radiant skin.
– Q: What is you next goal?
My next goal is to show people that you can make a better choice when you buy jewelry. It is actually quite absurd that we give jewelry in the name of love, when the diamonds in that piece of jewelry most likely have financed war, caused environmentally disaster and human tragedy for the people who made it for you.
With River and Raven Jewellery I want to create a better choice for people who, like me, love the mystique and fascinating beauty of gold and diamonds.
